Hey Patrick all the images of fallax I could find had the dark markings stopping at the eye or extending slightly further, bicolor seemed to extend further down the body like this little guy. Sorry I didn't hear them calling and I know nothing about frogs :-)

Nice shots Kylie. These skinks are a bit special aren't they. Males have these cool, twin pinstripes down the side that get more colourful in the breeding season. Note the four fingers on the front foot that the specific scientific name refers to.

It was most probably a Red-bellied Black Snake if it was relatively big and jet black in colour. Roughly how long was it?
